Snow White & the Huntsman

RATING: PG-13
GENRE: Action/Adventure/Drama
DIRECTOR: Rupert Sanders
WRITERS: Evan Daugherty, John Lee Hancock and Hossein Amini (screenplay), Evan Daugherty (screen story)
WHO’S IN IT: Kristen Stewart, Charlize Theron, Chris Hemsworth and Sam Claflin

THE STORY: This is not your typical Snow White story. In this version the Huntsman (Chris Hemsworth) is ordered to track Snow White (Kristen Stewart) into the woods and bring her to the Evil Queen (Charlize Theron) to eat her heart. When he finds her, he becomes her protector. Later they join forces with the dwarves and citizens of the kingdom in battle against the Queen.

IN MY OPINION: I really enjoyed this movie. Charlize Theron was a really nasty evil Queen, which I loved. Kristen Stewart was a good Snow White. I don’t think she’s a great actress but she held her own. Chris Hemsworth was great as the Huntsman. Even though he was playing an action character, he was able to stretch outside his typical “hero” role. I really liked Sam Claflin as William but felt his character could have been beefed up a little. My only real criticism is that the ending fell a little flat and I felt it was left unfinished.
