HARRISON — Mid Michigan Community College is hosting its 3rd annual Sweat Shaker Mountain Bike Race on June 30th on the Harrison campus’ bike trails. The first set of races will begin at 10 a.m., with Elite/Expert races beginning at 1 p.m.
The Sweat Shaker has been newly added to the Michigan Mountain Biking Association Championship Point Series. The college expects a large turnout of racers and tough competition as a result.
The MMCC Foundation is sponsoring the race, with proceeds benefiting the Lakers’ athletic program.
Racers will experience wooded and hilly trails, long and gentle climbs, as well as steep, rough terrain. The course winds through a nice combination of fast flowing trails, tighter technical trails, and a few short sections of hilly two tracks, making it challenging and fun for all skill levels.
The Sweat Shaker is open to all riders and has multiple classes and divisions. Early registration, postmarked by June 22 or online until June 29, is only $30 for adults and $20 for riders 14 and under. Riders can register on the day of the event for $10 more.
