Free events this summer in downtown Mount Pleasant

MOUNT PLEASANT — Downtown Mount Pleasant has several free events for you to enjoy this summer.

Movies by Moonlight starts at 8:30 p.m. on July 7 with E.T. Other movies to be shown in this series are The Muppet Movie on Aug. 4, Toy Story on Aug. 11 and Casablanca on Aug. 18. In case of rain, movies will be shown at the Broadway Theatre. Movies will be shown on the side of the Mount Pleasant City Hall located at 320 W. Broadway. See poster below for more information.

Max & Emily’s Summer Concert Series will continue at 7 p.m. on July 19 with The Ragbirds who started in Ann Arbor. This summer’s series will end Aug. 25 with Howie Day.

August 1 will begin downtown’s newest endeavor — Art Walk Central. Over 190 artists have been paired up with venue’s in Mount Pleasant. Artists are competing for two $10,000 prizes for artists and two $1,000 prizes for youth (12-17). The Street Festival will be held in conjunction with this event on Aug. 2-4.
