MOUNT PLEASANT — The Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs has announced an expansion of their Regional Re-granting Program. They now offer Arts Projects Minigrants of up to $4,000 for arts and cultural projects as well as grants of up to $1,500 for Professional and Organizational Development programs.
The Region Re-granting Program is a grants-giving partnership funded by the State of Michigan through the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs (MCACA) and administered by agencies in each region of the state. Art Reach of Mid Michigan serves as the Regional Regranting Agency for Isabella, Clare, Gratiot and Gladwin Counties.
MCACA minigrants are available to registered non-profit organizations. This includes (but is not limited to) service organizations, arts organizations, parks and recreational organizations, churches, professional associations, public and non-public schools, cities, townships, counties and villages. All Minigrant applicants must participate in the Cultural Data Project, www.miculturaldata.org. Two years data must be submitted and a funder report is required as an attachment to the Minigrant application.
Arts Projects Minigrants provide up to $4,000 for locally developed, high quality arts and cultural projects, which are special opportunities to address local arts and cultural needs and increase public access to arts and culture. Requests for Mini-grant funds may not exceed one half of your project’s cost.
Professional and Organizational Development Minigrant applications are available to assist nonprofit arts organizations and arts professionals to acquire services or skills to strengthen the administrative infrastructure of the organization to do business in Michigan. Grants awarded must not exceed 75% of total project cost up to $1,500. A 25% cash or in-kind match is required.
Applicants may apply to more than one MCACA program. However, only one application may be submitted for the same project or activity in a fiscal year.
FY13 Minigrant applications will be submitted electronically to mcaca.egrant.net (no www) and must be completed by 5 p.m. on Monday, October 1, 2012. Awards will be announced by November 15, 2012. Projects funded must be completed between January1, 2013 and September 30, 2013.
