Signature Dishes: The soup and salad bar is a crowd favorite. Each day there’s a wide variety of homemade soups (usually about six different ones), ranging from a magnificent potato to cabbage, chicken noodle, clam chowder, white chicken chili and Karen’s feel better (which is a hearty chicken and dumpling). They also have a great half-pound buffalo burger, which is a specialty. In addition, there are some popular “South of the Border” offerings.
Personal Favorite: While I stop by regularly for their soups (often taking a bowl home as a carry-out), I can say I’ve always enjoyed good food there. Their meatloaf dinner is very generous and always a good choice. Of the soups, I can’t get enough of the potato.
Atmosphere: The surroundings are simple but clean and comfortable. They also have televisions mounted throughout for viewing. The staff is always helpful and polite.
Side Note: They serve breakfast anytime, offering a nice omelette selection. There are daily lunch and dinner specials. Portions are always generous, prices are reasonable … and there’s free Wi-Fi.
