THE STORY: The Expendables are back after their 2010 successful run. Barney Ross (Stallone), Lee Christmas (Statham), Yin Yang (Li), Gunnar Jensen (Lundgren),Toll Road (Couture) and Hale Caesar (Crews), along with new members Billy the Kid (Hemsworth) and Maggie (Yu), are reunited when Mr. Church (Willis) needs their help for what looks to be a simple job. Everything goes wrong and one of their own is killed. The Expendables take it personally and seek revenge even though the outcome at times looks bleak. Based on the story by Ken Kaufman, David Agosto and Richard Wenk.
IN MY OPINION: I remember there being a lot of blood in the first Expendables movie.
I’m pretty sure the blood and kill count is even higher in this one. In fact, the blood was flying in this one. I liked the new cast members and especially the fact that a woman ends up on their team. The story itself was good but the script was a little weak. I enjoyed the cheesy lines from cast members’ former movies and there is some additional humor which keeps it balanced. I enjoyed the movie and seeing the the action stars from the ’80s on the screen again. It’s a fun movie. Just don’t take it too seriously.
