Appear in a holiday classic on the Broadway stage

MT. PLEASANT — The Broadway Theater will hold open auditions for the stage adaptation of Frank Capra’s “It’s a Wonderful Life” from 6-9 p.m. on Sept.19-20. Mark Carpenter of Mt. Pleasant will be the director. The production is a joint effort of the Broadway Playhouse Kids and the Broadway Players. Performances will be held Nov. 30 and Dec. 1-2 and 7-9.

“We are looking for actors age 14 and up. We are looking for a good mix of people, men and women, old and young,” Carpenter said. “There are approximately 28 roles, depending on how we double some of the tiny parts. This is not a musical, so no singing will be required at auditions. Also, we will be providing materials from which to read. If you want to prepare something, that would be fine, but not required.”

The Broadway Theatre is located at 216 E. Broadway in downtown Mt. Pleasant. For more information contact Sherry Matevich, Broadway Playhouse Kids chairperson, at (989) 644-5486.
