Heart for HATS, Tails and Trails 5K and Fun Walk

Do you love long walks, competitive runs, or just spending time with friends and family? Are you a dog lover or just want to take your dog for a much deserved long walk? Maybe your dog is very social and wants to make some friends.

Whatever the case, there is fun to be had for all on Saturday, Oct. 6, at the 13th Annual Tails and Trails 5K and Fun Walk in Island Park, Mt. Pleasant. A “Pet-a-Cure” station will be available as well as a pet psychic, micro-chipping station, and a pet photographer, each for just a $5 donation. All proceeds go to Humane Animal Treatment Society (HATS) to help fund their life-saving programs.

If you’ve ever adopted a pet from HATS, the staff  invites you  to come out and enjoy the festivities and share your success story with others. There will also be a chance to adopt some of the available animals as well.

Registration for the event starts at 9:30 a.m. for the run and 10 a.m. for the walk. Both require a $15 donation fee, but if you raise $50 from sponsors you are entitled to a bandana or T-shirt and lunch. There also will be prizes, including four passes to Soaring Eagle’s new water park. Top runners will receive a $25 gift card to Runners.

For more information or to register for the walk or run, visit www.HatsWeb.org or call (989) 775-0830.
