Signature Dishes: The cafe offers breakfast and lunch items that are truly classic. Baked items are fresh and always unique for this area. Their paninis are a treat, served on grilled artisan bread. Try “The Purple Gang” — ham, pepperoni and provolone cheese with mushroom and pizza sauce on sun-dried tomato bread or “The Razzmatazz Chicken,” which is grilled chicken breast layered with raspberry cream cheese, pecans and Swiss cheese on whole grain bread.
Personal Favorite: I love their breakfast items. There are always daily egg specials, which when paired with their homemade bread, are truly worth coming back for. Daily specials include quiche, fresh baked scones and lemon curd, as well as soups and sandwiches for lunch. There are also a variety of homemade pies to select from for dessert. Or you can take one home.
Atmosphere: The cafe is located inside Herrick House, a turn-of-the-century Victorian home. It’s cozy, friendly and a fun place to eat. In warm weather, there’s a beautifully landscaped outdoor patio open for dining.
Side Note: When you’re done eating (or before the meal), explore the nearly 2,000 square feet of shopping at the Herrick House, a gift shop that offers seasonal items as well as accessories and home decor (a must-see while you’re there).
