CLARE — Jenna Marshall was this year’s recipient of the Witbeck Scholarship to Mid Michigan Community College. This renewable scholarship provides full tuition for up to 12 credit hours, fees, and required textbooks at MMCC.
Marshall, a resident of Farwell and graduate of Beal City High School, will begin her fourth semester at MMCC in January. She plans to finish her liberal arts transfer degree and then go on to a get a bachelor’s in social work.
“I can’t believe that I received this scholarship,” Marshall said. “It will help so much in my paying for college. I’m really, really grateful to the Witbeck family for continuing to offer this opportunity to MMCC students.”
The Witbeck Award, sponsored by Witbeck’s Family Food in Clare, is offered to a resident of Beaverton, Clare, Farwell, Gladwin or Harrison school district who possesses either a high school diploma or GED. To renew this award for the second semester, students must maintain a 2.0 GPA or higher and be enrolled at MMCC full-time.
“The Witbecks have helped so many students with this scholarship,” Matt Miller, MMCC spokesman, said. “Our students are so fortunate to have community members like them who make education more accessible.”
