Fiddler on the Roof is an endearing musical that tells the touching story of a Jewish family in Russia at the turn of the century. The family is led by the “papa,” Tevye, who is a simple man, but close to God. He and his wife, Golda, live through the coming of age and marriages of three of their five daughters, with as much grace as they can manage. The family has to learn to adapt to change in their world while hanging on dearly to their faith.
Auditions for the role of the lead character Tevya will be at 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 10. Auditions for the remaining roles will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 11-12. If you are planning to audition, you should be prepared to sing a song of your choice. There will be an accompanist available. You may also have a prepared monologue and/or you may be asked to read from the script.
Fiddler on the Roof will require parts for all ages, both male and female. While the majority of the cast will be adults, there are limited roles for children.
Performances will be held April 26-28 and May 2-5.
