MT. PLEASANT — Beware, the Art Reach March art exhibit could make you hungry.
Food For Thought by Jacqueline Baerwald developed out of a desire to question what is fed to the minds of individuals and society as a whole. Using recycled and reused materials, the underlying food themes derive from society’s impulsive consumption of entertainment, technology and advertising.
“The table is full, the menu is enticing,” Baerwald said. “In this fast-paced, fast-food society there is a need for reflection and real digestion. Come with an inquisitive appetite. It will be a feast for the eyes and mind.”
Baerwald is a painter, photographer, graphic designer and mixed-media artist. She received an Associate in Fine Arts degree from Delta College in 2011, graduating with highest honors and receiving the Peter B. and Suzanne Smith Frantz Art Award.
The exhibit runs through March 30 at Art Reach of Mid Michigan, 111 E. Broadway in downtown Mt. Pleasant.
