Randall Doyle, professor of government and history at MMCC, will hold a presentation on Thursday, April 11, to discuss “Australia in the 21st Century: The Land of Oz at the Geopolitical Crossroads in the Asia-Pacific Region.”
This Global Awareness event is for students to broaden their knowledge and to be attentive to different affairs around the world.
The lecture will focus on the next steps that Australia will take in handling the recent balance of power dilemma with China. Although the United States and Australia are allies, Australia’s biggest trade partner is with China. Accordingly, questions need to be answered. How will this geopolitical situation affect United States – Australian relations? Will Australia be prepared to make critical adjustments for survival in the new Asia Pacific of the 21st Century?
The program will held at 7 p.m. in Room 112 at the Pickard location.
