CLARE — The Clare County Arts Council will show the photography of Cindy Mussell at Isabella bank in Clare through the month of October.
Mussell, a Mid Michigan Community College employee, is a longtime horse lover who now enjoys photographing the animals. When she received her first pony at age 12 she got involved with 4-H, taking trail rides with her friends. She gained an understanding of horses after experiencing different kinds of riding including fox hunting, polo, dressage, show jumping and pleasure riding,
She received her first 35mm SLR camera for high school graduation and for the first time was able to capture her passion on film.
A resident of Clare, Mussell believes her life experiences with horses have allowed her to anticipate and capture these moments with viewers so they too feel the power of the horse through photography. Her latest display depicts images from a working ranch in Montana, the OW Ranch in Decker, Montana, which is also a National Historical Landmark.
The Isabella bank is located on the corner of 5th Street and McEwan across from Cops and Doughnuts in downtown Clare.
