Poems by Kailyn Raphael

(The following poems were written by Kailyn Raphael, a freshman at MMCC. She is studying visual arts and has been writing short stories and poetry since childhood.)

Springtime Day

Springtime is the kind of season for flowers to start blooming, rivers and lakes start flowing with life, the sun melts the ice away, the snow goes with the ice, people hike through a forest on a trail of flowers, with the sound of running water nearby. At night you might hear howls from wolves saying goodnight to the blue starlight sky.

A peaceful day, a peaceful dream

As bright as a star, as far as the moon.

As wolves howl with a beautiful tune

I sit and wonder on this glorious afternoon.

As the lonely loon sings good day

As I blow out the candle and I start to stray to a deep

lonely sleep I go, as snowflakes flutter down below the

heaven above.
