Mid Michigan Community College will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Center for Liberal Arts and Business at 9:30 a.m. Oct. 1 on its Mt. Pleasant Campus on the corner of Broadway and Summerton. The Center for Liberal Arts and Business opened for classes in August.
The building is the culmination of a nine-year effort to improve student learning spaces and unify the college’s Mt. Pleasant operations onto one campus. The center holds all of the course sections that were previously offered in the college’s Pickard Street building, which is currently for sale.
At 101,000 square feet, the Center for Liberal Arts and Business supports transfer programs, liberal arts, business, visual arts, and math programs. The additional space includes expanded library and academic support services, as well as a community room that seats 250 people, which will allow for additional programming for students and the community.
Tours of the new Center for Liberal Arts and Business will be offered from 9-10:30 a.m. The public is welcome. For more information, contact Jessie Gordon at (989) 773-6622 ext. 526.
