CLARE — The next Clare County Food Distribution and Nutritional Education event is set for Saturday, Feb. 7, at McGuire Chevrolet, 712 W. US 10 (5th Street). Registration begins at 9 a.m., with food distribution beginning at approximately 11 a.m.
All persons who want food will receive it as long as supplies last. There is a limit of one food package per household. Also, nutritionists will be available providing healthy eating tips and recipes.
Recipients are asked to bring their own reusable bags, boxes, or baskets if possible. There may be a long wait, so if you need to sit, please bring a chair.
Volunteers also are needed to help distribute the food and assist patrons; volunteers should arrive by 10 a.m. The food distribution is usually over by 2 p.m. Volunteers don’t need to stay the entire time; any volunteer time is appreciated. Volunteers are also welcome to receive food.
The monthly food distribution is conducted by the Community Nutrition Network.
