Clare, MI – Clare Parks and Recreation has launched a crowdfunding platform to raise money towards the start of Phase 1 of the Clare Recreation Complex Project. The goal is to raise $45,190 within the thirty day campaign timeframe.
Clare Parks and Recreation and the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board have worked very hard to find and obtain a suitable piece of property that could be developed as a community park and soccer complex. In late 2012, the City of Clare purchased a 26.27 acre vacant parcel of property.
The money raised for this project will be used for a portion of the Phase 1 construction. The final goal for this property is to develop a multipurpose facility that will fit the needs of the community, as a whole, not just the youth soccer program. At its completion, the new park will contain many amenities for the community to enjoy including, a skatepark, paved walking trails, adult exercise stations, a butterfly garden, youth and full size fields, concession stand and bathroom facilities, picnic pavilions, an ADA accessible playground area, paved parking and, safety lighting.
The mission at the City of Clare Parks and Recreation Department is to contribute to the positive development and well being of the community through leadership and the provision of parks, trails, and recreational facilities. This will be accomplished through partnership and cooperation with other recreation service providers in the community in order to maximize all available resources. The driving focus of Parks and Recreation is to encourage health, fitness, culture, recreational, educational, and social opportunities in our community.
The Clare Recreation Complex Project was chosen to be featured on the crowdfunding site, Fund Your Park, through a competitive application process with the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA). Fund Your Park is a crowdfunding platform designed by NRPA exclusively for park and recreation agencies.
The campaign will end on September 25, 2015. For more information or to donate online, go to http://www.fundyourpark.org/campaign/widget/4220. You may also mail in or drop off a donation at Clare City Hall at 202 W. Fifth St., Clare, MI 48617.
