July free food distribution in Harrison

The next Clare County Food Distribution and Nutritional Education event is Saturday, July 9. Registration starts at 9 a.m. at the Harrison Palace Senior Center (former Knights of Columbus Hall) at 212 S. Broad St. in Harrison. The food will be distributed beginning at approximately 11 a.m. in the parking lot of the Clare County Building.

All who want food will receive it as long as supplies last with the limitation of one food package per household. Food recipients should bring their own reusable bags, boxes or baskets if possible. There may be a long wait, so if you need to sit, please bring a chair.

Volunteers are needed to help distribute the food and assist patrons. Volunteers should arrive by 10 a.m. and be prepared to help out until sometime in the early afternoon. Volunteers are welcome to register for and receive food.

The July food distribution and nutritional education event is sponsored in part by MidMichigan Health – www.midmichigan.org. The monthly events are conducted by the Community Nutrition Network.
